Acid Staining:

Coloring concrete may be achieved in several different ways. One of the most favorable is Acid Staining.

The process of acid staining is actually a chemical reaction of the original Lime (calcium hydroxide) found in hardened cement and metallic salts in an acidic solution ( this is what gives the so called acid stained or “marbled” effect).

The application of one color can actually give you a multiple assortment of different earth tone hues making each and every job slightly different from another. Water based stains also give off a marbled effect but these stains do not chemically react, instead, they give off a more translucent, natural earth tone hue.

Dyes may be used to help fill in the lighter areas of an acid stain or simply to give off a more vibrant color and are available in a wide range of colors to accent surrounding features. Stains and dyes create a translucent topical color transformation to virtually any concrete slab.

Concrete Overlay:

Concrete Connection offers two types of concrete overlays:

  • Stampable
  • Skimcoat

The Stampable overlay is generally a quarter of an inch thick and is designed to create the look of various surface types such as stone, slate, brick or even wood.

The smooth overlay ( or Skimcoat overlay) is designed to restore an original, natural finish whether it is smooth or somewhat textured. In either case, this gives us a blank canvas to now create a colorful masterpiece. Both overlays are designed for interior or exterior use.

Countertops:

Concrete Countertops are quickly becoming the new craze. They are tremendously durable and can be molded into basically any shape.

We can combine stones, glass, personal objects, acid stain, dye or painted….. Basically your imagination is our only limitation!
